Hi everyone!
Glad you made it here. This will be the place to check back every so often to see what's going on at Faith Family for you all.
I hope you'll be at Sunday School this week! Tomorrow (1/25/09) we'll be starting a new study in Sunday School called "Connect the Dots".
Here's an overview of what our study will be about straight from their website:
We treat God like a cosmic slot machine or a Magic 8-ball. We want to drop in a coin or shake things around until we get the answers we want for our life questions. Although questions about the “Big Three”—marriage, career, and residency—are important, maybe discovering God’s will for your life is more about answering His questions than Him answering yours.
Formulas and equations aside, this Bible study is a guide for journeying through what it means to find God’s will in the way He intended. Whether you are a college student wondering about what’s next, a young adult beginning a new career, or a twenty- or thirty-something looking for answers—this study will help you seek answers to questions such as “What am I looking for anyway?” and “What about when there’s nothing to hear?” The end result is a deeper relationship with your Creator—the One who cares about the Big Three and every other moment of your life.
It's gonna be a great study and I encourage you all to be there and as cheezy as it sounds, "BRING SOMEONE WITH YOU!" =)
Also, in addition to keeping you updated on what we're studying and events, etc., I will post some great links for your own personal quiet time and keep this updated with various things God shows us along this journey. God never waistes anything and what He shows each of us is often helpful to others as well so check back in often and hopefully you will be blessed.
Also if there are prayer requests from you guys, we can post them here as well.
We are planning to have lunch here at our house NEXT Sunday (2/1) so put that on your calendars, too.
I think that gets us caught up. See you all tomorrow!

Hey!
Just wanted to let you know we will still be around during the holiday season. We're excited that some of the students who've been away at school will be home for a couple of weeks and we can enjoy seeing them for a while. We will still have Sunday School as normal (9:15, don't miss it!) and we are doing a great study on the "Tough Sayings of Jesus". It has been so awesome, and you can jump in anytime. Each lesson stands alone and is full of things you can apply to your daily walk. Today we looked at the fig tree, and we talked about how God looks at us and sees what we really are. There's no "playing church" when it comes to Him, and we really need to take our relationship with Him seriously and make it a daily thing, instead of something we just do on Sundays or even just occasionally. This study has really been great, and I urge you to be there with us as we continue.
We will be changing up our normal Monday meeting time this week. We will be hosting the appetizer portion of the Faulkner Progressive Dinner tomorrow night (Monday, December 1). We will probably change things up a bit in January with our during the week Bible study to accomodate as many schedules as possible and allow as many of you to come as can. We'd love your feedback on how that could work best.
We hope everyone will make sure that Christ is the center of this Season, and we hope to see you all next Sunday if not before....

Hey guys! Just a reminder that we will really be kicking off our Monday night Bible study this coming up Monday night (September 15). We will be studying "What to do with your Wait". It's going to be an awesome time of being together in God's Word, and I encourage you to come if you can. We are actually going to be doing the Bible study in our homes now. We think it will be a little more cozy and inviting, and there will be FREE FOOD!!! SO, bring your friends and join us!!! Check back this week to find out our exact location and directions. Hope to see you Monday!
Don't forget about Sunday School, too!! We are enjoying our study on "Walking the Walk". It's at 9:15. Don't miss a blessing by not being with us!

Thanks Gustav!
As you would probably have guessed it, we will have to cancel the Labor Day cookout schedule for tomorrow night (Monday). We will plan to do something a little later in the semester for fun, but I'm thinking a cookout won't be a whole lot of fun in the torrential downpours that are on their way as we speak. Hope everyone stays safe!!!

Hey everyone! The semester is just getting started, and you're still not to late to join us on our study of "waiting". We just met last week and got acquainted and we really want to wait until after the Labor Day holiday to really dive into the study together. I know a lot of you already have a Monday study going if you're on your campus, but if you're in this area and need something during the week, we're here. So join us if you can!!! We'll really start out on the study on September 15. And, speaking of Labor Day, we'll be having a Labor Day cookout at our house (the McVays) on Labor Day evening. We'll start out around 6 pm and just enjoy some fellowship and food. Nothing formal, just come if you can. For directions to our home, just give me (Daisy) a call at 625-4587 or 656-7850 and I'll get ya' here. We'd love for anyone to come that wants to and bring a friend with you!
Also, don't forget about Sunday School at 9:15 every Sunday morning. I know it's early, but get on up and don't miss a blessing. We are going through a study now that's going to help us learn how to "WALK OUR TALK". We need to know how it looks to walk daily in what we say we believe as Christians. Once that study is complete, we're going to dive right into one called "The Tough Sayings of Jesus". Whose words are better than His, but some are a little tougher to understand than others. We'll look at those together and see what God's Word has to say.
If you have any questions or need directions or anything, you can call us at those numbers above or you can email us at: fathfamilyfringes@yahoo.com
